Explore the Y

Our YMCA features three outreach centers and a teen program at the Rapid City Public Library. With these varied locations we have numerous ways youth can participate and build relationships -- after all, Outreach is all about relationships. The Outreach programs will provide creative physical and educational outlets for youth and teens.

Youth Center

The Youth Center is the main Outreach Center located downstairs in the YMCA, for ages 6 to 18. We offer a variety of games, activities and a safe environment for youth to build relationships. Summer hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Teen Center

The Teen Center is located across the street from North Middle School. It is located in the perfect place to reach out to students from the Middle School and surrounding area. The Teen Center provides a variety of games and a great social environment for middle school youth. School year hours are Monday-Friday: 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Summer hours are Tuesday-Friday: 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Star Village

This center is right in the middle of Star Village and offers a great place for youth to go after school to hang out and participate in great enrichment activities. During the summer the Star Village Outreach Center operates Monday - Friday  from 11:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Downtown Teen Center

Check it out at 629 Kansas City Street in the 1st United Methodist Church. The focus is on Dakota Middle School, 9th Grade Academy students and Central High School with a variety of activities planned. This is an exciting program.

Midnight Alternatives

This awesome program will resume in the fall Saturday evenings 8 p.m. to midnight at the YMCA! Designed for those ages 12-18 years old.  Programs offered at the YMCA include basketball, music, hip-hop, tournaments, and special activities with pizza served. Musical and cultural guests will be invited to perform. Look for flyers and announcements. Volunteers needed! Members $1, Program participants $3.
