Wellness Training 101 with ActivTrax

ActivTrax is free to YMCA members! After discussing your health concerns and goals with our wellness staff, you can get started on a health and wellness program specifically designed for you by using our ActivTrax system! ActivTrax will create customizied workouts around your goals, strength and fitness experience. Each time you visit the center, you'll recieve a new workout that offers you ideas on what you need to do in order to reach your fitness goals. There is even an app for smartphone users! From your home computer, ActivTrax also provides you with an online weight management tool to help keep your food choices on track for a more healthy lifestyle!

Personal Training

Personal trainers are available to assist you with an individualized workout and provide the motivation and education you need to reach your fitness goals. $28/hr of training.

Personalized Group Training

Can’t find the class type or time that fits your needs? Try Personalized Group Training! Personalized Group Training is like having a Personal Trainer without the financial strain! Split the cost and have a trainer for you and 2 or 3 of your friends. You choose the trainer and decide what time works best for you and your friends to workout. Along with personalized training, your trainer gives you tips in exercise basics, like why we need carbs AND cardio!

$35/hour of training.

Better Choices, Better Health

Better Choices, Better Health is a 6 week worksho designed to help those living with a chronic condition mo make healthier lifestyle choices htam may lead to long term better health. By attending, you may gain self-confidence in your ability to manage your symptoms related to your chronic condition and understand how health problems affect your life. Class meets once a week for 2-1/2 hours in a group setting.

TRX Metabolic Burn

Improve your performance and take your training to the next level. This class moves you through various stations combining the TRX with kettleballs, medicine balls, jump ropes and The Rip Trainer! If you are ready to step up your workouts, TRX Advanced is hard core...Get ready to sweat! Intermediate and advanced welcome.

Class size is limited to 16 and held in The Zone. This is a six week class and runs with sessions. 

Tuesdays & Thursdays:  8:15-9:15 am



Strength and Balance

Why should you stay active? For better health and enjoyment of everyday activities! Join Tony and begin to take back control! You may not be able to “turn back the hands of time”, but you will be able to keep your clock ticking! Improve your strength, balance, flexibility and coordination.

Free to YMCA Members

Communuity Participants: $65/6 weeks

Parkinson's Wellness Classes

Physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your body. Why not have fun when you do it? Join Bjo and a dedicated staff in the Loft on Mondays & Wednesdays to make the most of what you can. You’ll learn the importance of keeping up with activity and tips on healthy snacks.

Parkinson’s Cycle Class on Mondays:  2-3 pm

Parkinson’s Boot Camp on Wednesdays:  2-3 pm




The YMCA of Rapid City is excited to partner with LIVESTRONG to promote the importance of physical activity after a cancer diagnosis. This 12-week program, offered at no cost, is designed to help survivors improve their strength and quality of life.
