Youth

This progressive program is designed to help youth develop and improve water skills. Youth will be taught to their ability and “progress up” when they have developed and mastered all skills for their current level. To build self-esteem and maintain consistency throughout our program, the instructors will not progress a child before they are ready. Instructors of each level also use land and water time to develop youth by increasing their safety knowledge in and around the water and to promote healthy living now and in their future! » read more

Sponsor a Child

The YMCA of Rapid City, Custer, and Edgemont is committed to making quality programs and facilities available to all. We strive to keep youth membership and program fees reasonable by subsidizing some of the real costs. Even so, we know that some families will need financial assistance or sponsorships to participate in YMCA programming. Through these sponsorships, children in our community are provided with opportunities to become involved in youth sports, swimming lessons, summer camps, after-school and teen programs, opportunities that they would not otherwise have. More importantly, through each of these programs, the YMCA strives to teach and reinforce the values of respect, responsibility, caring and honesty. » read more
