11th Annual Christmas Cardio Cross-Training Challenge!

November 28-January1,2011
You can go ahead and enjoy some of the holiday goodies if you stay active with the 11th Annual Christmas Cardio Cross-Training Challenge! The goal here is to try some new activities and maintain your weight over the sugary,creamy, almond-y, pudding-y holiday eating season. You have 5 weeks to work in a variety of activities that include cycling, strength training, swimming, group exercise classes and good old fashioned walking/running.
Register by Dec. 4 and pick up your tally sheet in the Randy Travis Wellness Center. Fee includes limited edition shirt!

Aerobic moves in a "dance-like" combination that will get your heart rate up and leave you smiling. A great class for beginners and advanced alike!

Beginners course to build physical strength and flexibility. Tai Chi is a proven method for increasing physical movement, concentration, body mechanics and decreasing mental stress.

Class focuses on a variety of abdominal exercises to target your abs. Great for beginner or advanced.

Power Yoga (land)
A more advanced yoga class for those looking to hold poses longer and increase heart rate. Not recommended for beginners.

Water Lillies & Bullfrogs
Exercise in the deep end of the pool while wearing a float belt that keeps you upright. Move your arms and legs freely with no presure on your legs and feet!

Young at Heart
Those AOA's who want to keep fit can join up in the 8 lane pool for water exercise classes lead by "seniors". We enjoy working out, spending time with each other and meeting new friends. Program Participants $3 per class.

AFAP Program (Joint Efferts Arthritis)
This program consists of range of motion, muscle strengthening and endurance building activitites. Each participant is required by the National Arthritis Foundation to complete a medical history and release by the second class. All participants need to register at the front desk. Free to YMCA members, $65 for 6 weeks for Program Participants.

M/W/F FOLLOWING AFAP CLASSES 8 LANE POOL
Step Up
This program will be slightly more vigorous than the AFAP program, but still works range of motion, muscle strengthening and endurance building activities. Teaching aides are added.

Zumba designed for children 4-12 in a family format. Please bring a parent, grandparent, and be ready to have fun!
