Get on Board at the Y

The YMCA Arts & Science Center, located on the same block as the YMCA  at 830 Quincy Street,  is a hands-on activity center for the Rapid City Community. This is truly a community center developed and built by dedicated individuals and businesses across the Black Hills.

Eight science themed areas full of a variety of fun, educational, kid-friendly science activities are located on the main and second floors of the Center. Magnetics, Inventions, Construction, Dinosaurs, Waterworks, Astronomy, Curiosity and a special toddler room are all open for your exploration.

 School Year Open Times

Monday-Friday -- 3:00 to 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday 1:00 to 5:30 p.m.

Saturday -- noon to 4:00 p.m.

Fees:

YMCA Members: $2.00 per visit during all open times

 (Friday Family Open Time is free for YMCA family members.)

Visitors:  $4.00 per visit

(3 years of age and younger are free of charge)

 Birthday party packages

Looking for a fun, interactive place for your child's birthday party? Looking to keep the mess out of your house? Parties are scheduled for 2 hours on Saturdays. Before or after open times are also available. Have your party activities and then let your guests explore the science center. There is always something interesting for kids of any age. Fees include admission to the Center for the birthday child, 12 party guests and 2 adults. You can also schedule a special a special art or science activity just for your group. Parties must be scheduled two weeks in advance, paid at least one week in advance. Cost for Y members: $80 Cost for Visitors: $120.
