YMCA of Rapid City Heritage Club

For more than 50 years, the YMCA of Rapid City has served as a meeting place where families and young people gather to participate in activities that promote personal growth, strengthen family live, develop social and physical skills and provide good wholesome fun.

As the gifts of the past helped build the leaders of today, your long-term support will help ensure a financially strong YMCA Endowment Fund to build tomorrow's leaders for our community. All donors who state in writing that they planned a gift to the YMCA, whether they are deferred gifts, outright gifts or bequest in wills, become members of they YMCA Heritage Club. The foresight of these generous supporters enable the YMCA of Rapid City to plan for the challenges ahead, secure in the knowledge of available resources for the future.

The Heritage Club brings people together who have made a commitment to include the YMCA of Rapid City in their financial or estate planning. Anyone can become a member!

Caring through Planned Giving

The size of your gift is not only measured in dollars but also in your commitment to the mission of the YMCA. Heritage Club membership is the strongest statement of support that a friend of the YMCA of Rapid City can make. Heritage club members send the crucial message to the next generation...we care! Becoming a member of the Heritage Club requires a commitment which now, or in the future, will add to the YMCA of Rapid City Endowment Fund. Planning Giving opportunities to qualify for Heritage Club membership include:

Outright Gift: Make an immediate donation and take a charitable deduction as provided by law.

Bequest in Will: Include the YMCA in a will and reduce estate taxes. Fixed amounts, specific assets or percentages of the estage may be specified. Another option is to name the YMCA as a recipient of the remainder of an estate after all other expenses and specified contributions.

Appreciated Assets: Contribute appreciated assets, such as stock, real estate or personal property to the YMCA of Rapid City and receive a charitable deduction equal to the current value of the assets without capital gains tax.

Life Insurance: Purchase a life insurance policy naming the YMCA of Rapid City as the beneficiary, and take a charitable deduction equal to the premium amount. Several plans are available in which a new policy can be fully paid in a period of five to seven years.

Trusts: Establish a form of charitable trust and/or annuities that provide the donor with a fixed or variable lifetime income and receive a charitable deduction at the same time.

Real Estate: Donate a home or real estate to the YMCA of Rapid City, enjoy the benefits of ownership for life and recognize a charitable deduction immediately.

Retirement Plans: Name the YMCA of Rapid City as a full or partial beneficiary of your IRA or qualified retirement plan to avoid potentially both income and estate taxes on these gifts.
